Conclusion
Moonshot leadership for massive transformative purpose has become an increasingly popular term over the past decade. It refers to seemingly impossible ideas that can change our world. Pioneers of moonshot leadership such as Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Jeff Bezos and Larry Page were among the first to adopt more agile schemes and business strategies to fully embrace disruptive innovation. With time, more and more companies have begun to adopt these strategies and have built strong reputations through them. These exponential organizations have been taking innovation more seriously and are consistently looking for ways to best embrace and leverage change and be a part of the solution to todayâs biggest business and societal challenges. Moonshot thinking is a bold vision fostered by radical solutions that unite people, making extraordinary action and achievement possible. To enroll stakeholders, leaders need a goal that speaks to the customers, policymakers, evangelists, volunteer leaders, staff, the industry, and the public at large.
The commercialization and privatization of companies fostered by moonshot leadership has increased over the last decade. Moonshot leadership has increased the value, worth, and respect of the customers in different markets. Customers have been the driving force that is needed to bring forth changes in businesses and the economy as a whole. This is a positive thing from the customersâ perspective; they know that theyâre the ones who have been taking this economy further, so they should have a clear role in it. Also, customers need information about the things theyâre choosing to buy because no-one wants to invest money in something that has no future. All in all, this is a positive sign for the future, as more and more people will be motivated to become a part of the industry with their diverse skills and innovations.
We will have electric cars but not because the automobile industry wanted to develop them Ââ since the invention of the combustion Âengine 100 years ago, the sector is still very comfortable with this technology. Besides, known oil reserves could last for at least another 53 years, so this isnât the main reason either. Indeed, the Stone Age didnât end because of a lack of stones. We will have electric and autonomous vehicles because itâs what consumers want, even if today the technological cost means theyâre inaccessible and not all the resources are available yet. People want less polluting, safe transportation, and more free time. In the end, we will have autonomous vehicles because a moonshooter, Elon Musk, decided to provide a radical solution to a problem and founded Tesla, which is now starting to disrupt the entire car, electronics and software industry.
